PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE

Through research and meetings with a number of settlement organizations in Manitoba, the Economic and Community Development Department has obtained a great amount of knowledge regarding organization, development, and delivery of structured immigrant settlement services. It has been determined that in order to provide effective immigrant services, there will be a need for an agency to support the day to day needs of immigrants as well as a committee of community members that will provide overall direction and community support

The Portage la Prairie International Committee (PIC) will be comprised of a cross section of the community members for the following organizations:

City Council Representative (1)

Chamber Representatives (2)

Portage la Prairie School Division Representative (1)

Regional Health Authority Representative (1)

Rural Municipality Representative (1)

Central Manitoba Literacy Association (1)

Portage la Prairie Ministerial Association (1)

Members at large (2)

Mayor of Portage la Prairie (ex-officio)
