TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE

In early 2001, the City of Portage la Prairie created the Tourism Advisory Committee. The purpose of the Tourism Advisory Committee is to encourage tourism development within the City of Portage la Prairie and tourism providers in order to attract more tourists, increase their length of stay, and increase the volume of tourism products. The Tourism Advisory Committee Consists of BGuy Moffat, Tim Daniels, Irene Edwards, Karen Wohlgemuth, Susan Gilbert, Walter Bartsch and Jeff Bereza, Councillor. We encourage you to speak to any one of the appointed members of the TAC to voice your tourism ideas, concerns or inquiries!

TAC Mission Statement
The Tourism Advisory Committee will encourage tourism development within the City of Portage la Prairie and to tourism providers in order to attract more tourists, increase their length of stay, and increase the volume of tourism products.

TAC ANNUAL ROUNDTABLE MEETING
In order to generate more active participation in tourism development within the City from the tour operators and service sector areas in the community, the City’s Tourism Advisory Committee hosts an annual Roundtable meeting to get your feedback!

This meeting will be held in May during the Tourism Awareness Week (May 1-5) in order to encourage community participation, support, and buy-in from business owners and key contributors in the tourism industry by generating new ideas and encouraging discussion.   The actual date of the TAC Annual Roundtable Meeting will be announced in the near future.  The meeting is open to the public.

We encourage all retail businesses, attraction operators, restaurant and hotel operators, financial institutions, sport, recreation or service groups and concerned citizens to participate in this important stakeholder meeting.

Please contact 204-239-8334 or info@city-plap.com for additional information.
