Campus Manitoba – Southport Campus

Campus Manitoba is a collaborative program of the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg, and Brandon University. The program offers a selection of university level arts, science, and education courses. These courses help fulfill degree requirements for a variety of degree programs, and carry the same credit and are equivalent to on-campus courses. Courses are being added every ear, please contact the centre for course offerings or visit our website at www.campusmanitoba.com.  Students select and make application to one of the three universities as their “home” university. However within the Campus Manitoba program they may take courses from any of the three Manitoba universities, for which seamless credit transfer to their home institution. All applications and registration procedures occur on-site at the Campus Manitoba centre.  Courses are delivered via numerous mediums. However, the Internet will continue to be used a s the main method, transmitting text, graphics and audio-visuals to multiple receiving sites. On-site courses (synchronous) are delivered in a “virtual classroom” allowing for immediate interaction with the professors and other students. These courses are at a scheduled time each week. On-line (asynchronous) courses allow for flexibility, as they are delivered via various computer software delivery methods. As a result, students will have an interaction with the instructor, the course materials, and the other students without ever having to leave their home community. The students will also gain valuable skills in the use of learning technologies.

Portage Learning Centre is a community based organization that is dedicated to providing people the opportunity to discover their potential through education, training and skill development.
